Most of us take vitamins and supplements to support our physical and cognitive health and the truth is we can benefit greatly from a daily maintenance program to support our personal growth and emotional health too.
Ryan Holiday, author of The Daily Stoic, suggests that we read “a page a day” book to meet our minimum daily requirement for self-awareness and self development.
My goal is to make getting your daily dose of healthy insights as easy as possible. You don’t even need to buy a book. Just check your inbox each morning and read the Daily Gummy of Wisdom as you sip your coffee or tea. You might even find yourself forwarding the daily gummy to a friend or family member before you jump into your busy day.
The Daily Gummy is a quick read – chock full of food for thought, new skills and tools you can put into practice right away, and insights into things we got wrong about emotions and parenting.
Thanks to some inspiration from music producer Rick Rubin, I’ve combined two of my passions — photography and personal growth — to create the Daily Gummy with appealing visuals and nuggets of helpful insights about neuroscience, psychology, behavioral science, emotional health and more.
I love doing the deep dives into research, books, podcasts, seminars and webinars and then distilling what I’m learning for you to support your personal growth and self discovery.
While I do pull a few of these daily gummies together on a blog post once or twice a month, it is the small daily commitment to self awareness and cultivating greater emotional and relational skills that really packs the punch.
If you are dialing back on scrolling through social media like many are striving to do, consider signing up for my free email subscription. I will pop my Daily Gummy into your personal inbox each morning.

Here is a sample of the Daily Gummy Supplement:

Why is this happening to me? Why is this happening again? Why can’t I catch a break?
These questions bubble to the surface whenever we are overwhelmed and under resourced. It seems no matter how hard we try, things keep falling apart.
These questions are relevant and beg to be answered – by us.
Why is this happening? Is it “for me” rather than “to me”. If you pause to reframe this question, you may begin to see the life lesson being offered to you. Could it be that life keeps offering a pop quiz, a study session or even a lecture? Take some time to answer the import question of “why is this happening FOR me?” Is your disorganization or procrastination becoming an obstacle? Do you say yes too often even when you know your plate is full?
Why is this happening — again? Yet another lesson that life wants to teach you. If you keep getting the same results, look at the root cause. Do you keep coming at recurring problems the same old way? There may be a better avenue. Look for patterns that need adjustment.
Why can’t I catch a break? Many times the answer is that we need to “take a break” not catch one. We exhaust ourselves chasing the breaks we desire. We need to be proactive and take the breaks needed to do our best and minimize mental overload.
The next time you find yourself uttering these compelling questions — stop, look and listen. Stop what you are doing and look at your patterns of action, behavior and responses. Listen to the answers that you come up with — they just might be your best guesses about life lessons.
